People we work with

Our baking is rooted in community and connection. Bread is best shared with friends and family, filled with farmer’s market produce, and paired with local wine, butter, tinned fish, or jam. It’s warmth, nourishment, and hospitality from the people and environment around us. We bake in daylight in open kitchens to connect with our customers - creating community by bringing you into the bread making experience. Our community also includes thoughtful collaborations with like-minded local businesses. Below, a few of our favorites.

Goop

We’ve been a fan of all things GOOP for years and years so a collaboration with them was truly a dream come true. After many months of testing we have finally made the perfect grain free loaf in collaboration with our favorite wellness guru Gwyneth Paltrow! It’s made with 5 simple ingredients: Almond flour, buckwheat, arrowroot, salt and yeast. It’s vegan, oil free, gluten free, grain free and so incredibly delicious! We will be selling the bread itself at our Oat Bakery Montecito location and all Goop stores will carry our Wellness bread mix so you can make this beautiful healthy loaf of goodness right at home. That means you can get a little piece of Oat Bakery in New York, Sag Harbor, Brentwood and Montecito!! The bread mix comes with easy step by step instructions, all you need is a 1lb loaf pan and chia seeds.

Farmers
Market

The Santa Barbara Farmer’s Market has been a weekly ritual beloved by locals since 1979. Since then, they have worked to deliver the freshest and most nourishing produce Southern California agricultural land has to offer straight to the public. Located right around the corner, on Tuesdays and Saturdays, we align ourselves with this rhythm by honoring the principles of “producer to consumer” with farmer’s market inspired buns and pastries.

Brightland

Brightland’s consciously-sourced olive oils, vinegars, and honeys elevate the ordinary and encourage one to slow down and embrace the simple elegance of everyday moments. We connected with Brightland over the love for bread and good olive oil and we are proud to have worked with a brand that knows the difference is in the details and seeks to use only the best ingredients. We used their beautiful garlic olive oil to create a castelvetrano olive chimichurri filled with herbs from the farmers market and lemon zest, accompanied by our rosemary sourdough focaccia with farmers potato, farmstead cheese from Marin and topped with Brightlands Rosemary olive oil and maldon salt.

Moon Juice

As a bakery, we’ve always focused on the importance of fresh, quality ingredients above all else. This is a value we stay true to, not only because it contributes to better tasting bread, but because if “we are what we eat,” then prioritizing quality means we are also prioritizing our collective health and wellbeing. All this to say, when Moon Juice asked us to help develop a special banana bread for their shop, we couldn’t have been more excited. Working together we came up with the perfect recipe - a grain free almond flour reishi banana bread lightly sweetened with maple syrup.

Prolog

A purveyor of quality, sustainability, and transparency, Copenhagen-based Prolog Coffee obsesses over creating a refined product and overall experience for their customers. Given coffee’s complicated environmental impact, sustainability plays a very important role for Prolog, which is why they became a B-Corp in 2022 that regularly publishes a sustainability and transparency report. One of the founders happens to be an old friend of mine so being able to share this coffee with our customers across the world is so special. We serve it at our Old Town Goleta location daily and sell their beans at our Downtown and Montecito location. If you haven’t tried it yet it’s an absolute must!
